Started: May 26th, 2011
Finished: June 1st, 2011Day One: Day one consisted of waking up at 4:45 am and going to my in-laws house to meet to drive up to airport at 5:30. Our power was out that morning so I'm glad I knew where everything was and was prepared just to put Wy in the truck and go. John took Jolene, Jeanette, Wyatt and me to the airport. Our flight was at 8:00 am but was delayed until 9:30. When we arrived in Houston we had missed our flight by probably 5 minutes. They gave us food vouchers and put us on the 4:00 pm flight out to Michigan, we arrived in Detroit, Michigan very late and then drove the 2 hours to Lansing where we would be staying with my sister-in-law Sarah and her family.
Day Two: Due to the late flights and two hour time change, we were all very tired and slept in quite late. When we were ready to go for the day we decided to take the kiddos on a bike ride to Rachel and Spencers school a few blocks away. The kids were able to play on the playground there. For dinner, Rachel and Spencer were super excited to introduce us to their tradition of pizza movie night. We ordered pizza, watched Tangled and hung out in the living room.
Wyatt is ready to go! Dora helmet and all.
Rachel was so cute and would stay back with Wyatt even though some of Rachel and Spencers friends from the neighborhood decided to join us for the bike ride.
Playing at the park was very fun. Spencer found a cookie cutter in the sandbox and it became his favorite thing for the whole week. Rachel loved the swings with her friends and Wyatt loved the slides, even though his bum got wet from the bottom of them.
Wyatt was a little exhausted after the park.
Day Three: We went to the childrens museum in Ann Arbor, Michigan where we all got in for free because of our passes in Utah. We were there for about 45 minutes then had to load up and head to the airport to pick up Amber, or Aunt Weez (Louise). On the way home from the airport we stopped at Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was so much fun, the kids were all so excited to be with Amber. After dinner, Sarah, Amber, Jolene and I went to Fashion Bug because Sarah had coupons and we did a little shopping. That night I got really sick and poor Jolene hung out with me and got me water why I threw up.
The kids all held Ben's hand as they walked to the park. Funny: Sarah and I both saw this and pulled out our cameras at the same time to take this cute picture.
One section of the Children Museum was water play. Wyatt enjoyed fishing with Spencer and dumping water in the wheel with Aunt Nette.
The kids loved building! It was very hard to get them to go upstairs or play on anything else. Rachel made an entire wall equiped with a door and two windows all by herself and the boys loved to play in this house that was there and finish building it.
Wyatt and Spencer 'drove' the ambulence and Wyatt rode in the back too.
How tall are we?
When you pedal this bike, a skeleton pops up next to you riding a bike, Wyatts legs were too short to do it himself.
Wyatt stood and watched the bees for about five minutes. He loved them.
Pulling up bubbles around him.
Wyatt and Nette sending messages to this little boy and his dad.
Talking on the phone to Grandma Jo right before we had to leave.
I think the outside of the childrens museum looks super cool.
Rachel and Wyatt smother Aunt Weez at Texas Roadhouse.
Day Four: This was Sunday and Grandma Jo woke up to go to church with the Crouch family why the rest of us hung out at the house. When they got back the kids were given presents from Amber and then they made some beanbags to throw into a beanbag toss game. We started to bake cookies which ended up not working because the power went out. It was super windy and rain was coming down in sheets. Amber and I thought it was so pretty and were ready to get pictures outside when Sarah said so casually, 'Oh, by the way, we are on tornado watch today' concerned Amber and I looked at her like 'Huh?' Sarah goes, 'Oh, but don't worry, we don't have to worry unless the tornado sirens go off.' Not even two minutes after Sarah says this, the sirens started blaring. Needless to say, I was a little freaked out! We all headed down to the basement where we stayed for about an hour to an hour and a half. The sirens went off and on for a while, but the kids were scared to go back upstairs so we waited until they weren't coming on again. Later that night, Sarahs basement flooded and her back up generator for her sump pump was not working. Luckily they had friends who had a generator they could borrow overnight. If not we would have had to go downstairs every ten minutes and manually drain the pump. Sarah got a text from a friend who lived close that said the power would remain off until Tues night!!!

Amber relaxing and playing computer.
Wyatt and Rachel and Spencer playing the beanbag toss.

The ultimate taste test.
Us being scared in the basement.
Rachel and Wyatt sharing a lantern.
Day Five: On Monday we decided to take Sarah and Bens boat to Lake Lansing to do a little tubing and sunbathing. When we got there everyone was so excited to ride in the boat. The kids could hardly stand the wait to get the boat in the water...it was Memorial Day so the wait was about 45 minutes. When we all finally got into the boat we were on the lake for probably 5 minutes when Ben noticed that his boat was not running right and the engine was smoking. So needless to say, we headed back to shore and left. We were all so sad to not be able to ride in the boat for long. On the way home we stopped and had Culvers for dinner.
Rachel and Wyatt waiting for the boat ride.
Grandma Jo and her three grandkids on the boat.
Sarah and Amber
Me and Aunt Nette.
The engine smoking and stinky
Ben trying to flag another boat down for help, no luck.
Amber being smothered again by her niece and nephews!
Day Six: On Tuesday we were all super excited to be able to visit one of the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan. We drove two hours to feel the sand between our toes, the freezing cold water, and to see a super cool lighthouse. Michigan is so pretty and very green. I enjoyed all the car rides because of the great scenery and wildlife. We were constantly spotting deer as we drove. While we were visiting Lake Michigan, Amber, Sarah and I decided to get pedicures while Ben, Aunt Nette and Jolene took the kiddos to get dinner and go to a park. Pedicures were a nice, calming experience without the children. It was a great day.
Wyatt has never been to a beach before.
He was super nervous to go into the 'Big Water' by himself.
Rachel playing in the sand.
The beautiful waves and the lighthouse we walked to.
Spencer and Wyatt enjoyed throwing dirt into the Lake.
Everyone walking to the lighthouse.
The whole gang at the lighthouse.
The kiddos had a blast at the park why the mommies and aunts got pedicures!
Our toes are painted! My feet are so swollen (bottom)
Day Seven: Today is the day we ventured home. I was really sad to go but also super excited to see Nate and Wyatt was ready to snuggle his daddy. Our flight was really early, we left Sarah's house at 2:30 am. We got back to Utah around 12:30 pm. with no delays and perfect flights. It was such a fun vacation. I'm so happy that we were able to go and visit the Crouch family.
